
We once waited ~3 hours to fill up roughly 100 liters of fuel, this was in Gondar, Ethiopia. Usually the queue was always for petrol and we could skip ahead to the diesel station, not in Gondar though. There was already a lack of fuel stations and only one, this one, had diesel.
Not pictured are the 20 men at the pump, which they all act as though the work there. And after seeing a Mzungu (a common term for European looking people, read “white”) they all flock to help. Some even try to sneak their container in while pumping. I understand the unfairness, the struggle, and it’s unfortunate one has to be on high alert.
