From our ride to the dam near Bandung; we had a snack called “Bandros” from this guy. We On the left he has the ingredients and in the container to the right he has the stove.
The batter is rice flour, coconut milk, shaved coconut, he pours the batter into these semi round compartments covers and cooks for five minutes.
Then he uses a special utensil to take the bandros out, the outside is crispy while the inside is still soft. Sprinkles some sugar and it’s ready for eating (spicy sauce optional, although all locals always add some).
He was telling Selina he’s been making these for over 20 years, at this exact same spot. We often notice street food vendors are elderly people and wonder if they are a dying breed as the youth doesn’t seem to show any interest in cooking.
